The Little Mermaid

This was done for a custom swap. Not saying which one, don't want to ruin the surprise. This custom is based more on the original version of "The Little Mermaid" than the Disney one.

In the story, before the mermaid's first trip to the surface, her grandmother put a crown of lilies on her head and told eight large oysters to attach to the end of her tail.

So, this pony has clay lilies around her head and eight clay "clams" tied to the end of her tail I had trouble making clay oysters, so I made clams instead.

Her back legs are painted with fish scales. I had thought about making her a clay fish tail, but I like the way she turned out better.
