Oh, my dear watchers, I need assistance. See, this is the rooster I painted for my sister (for her birthday). It's what she wanted.
I had originally intended on leaving it on a white background, so I did not do a background first. (Mostly because I SUCK at backgrounds). However, now that the rooster is done, It really needs a background. White rooster + white canvas = not so great.
So, since I am a novice painter, by every stretch of the imagination, I was hoping some of you more experienced painters (which is probably all of you), may have some suggestions on what I could do. I need it to be quick and easy, as I don't really have a whole lot of time, and I don't want to screw the whole thing up by botching the background.
So, comments and suggestions are strongly desired, PLEASE!

I agree - just a wash of color in the background. Great job on the rooster!
